













Hon. Abisola Omisore, Vice Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, honoured the invitation to the Lagos State Health District VI stakeholders’ meeting, which brought together Ward Health Committee members, Health Education Officers, and Religious Leaders to deliberate on Behaviour Change Communication in Ikeja LGA.
The meeting, themed “Improving Community Participation Through Community Strengthening,” was held at Onigbongbo Local Government and underscored the critical role of grassroots engagement in achieving sustainable health outcomes. Discussions centred on empowering community structures, strengthening collaboration between government and local influencers, and leveraging trusted voices—particularly religious and community leaders—to promote positive health behaviours.
Participants also explored practical strategies for improving health awareness, increasing community ownership of health programmes, and ensuring that public health interventions are culturally responsive and widely accepted. The engagement reaffirmed the commitment of stakeholders to building resilient communities where informed participation drives better health delivery and long-term wellbeing across Ikeja LGA.
